Trail Of Scarecrows Returns To Township Community Center

LEMONT, IL — Although it's still August, fall will be here before you know it in Lemont. With the beginning of autumn, comes the return of the annual Trail of Scarecrows competition at the township community center, 16300 Alba St.

This year's theme is fairy tale characters. Local groups, organizations and families can create scarecrows (you must register by Sept. 10 to create a scarecrow), and the community will vote on their favorites.

The trail begins on Sept. 24 with a Welcome Scarecrow Fest, and voting continues through Oct. 18.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
