Village Of Lemont To Host Annual Fall Cleanup Recycling Event
The four-hour event provides an opportunity for disposal of a number of household items such as electronics, prescription medicine and more.
LEMONT, IL — The Village of Lemont will hold its annual fall household recycling day on Saturday when residents can responsibly rid their homes of a number of items.
The Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Metra lot, located at 101 Main St., village officials announced on Friday. As part of the clean-up event, residents may bring the following items to the site for recycling:
- Motor Oil
- Unwanted documents (up to 100 pounds) Documents will be shredded on site and business paper recycling will not be permitted.
- Electronics such as televisions, computers and microwaves
- Prescription medicine: Because of ongoing health restrictions, prescriptive needles, creams and liquids will not be permitted nor will EPI pens. All pills must be removed from containers and must be placed in plastic bags.
- Printer toner cartridges, ink, cell phones
- CFL light bulbs
- Batteries
- Glasses and hearing aids
- Bicycles
- Food will also be collected for local food pantries – please bring non-perishable items to the train depot for collection.
