1 Arrested In Warren Township Home Invasion
The home invasion occurred during the early morning hours of May 21.

WARREN TOWNSHIP, IL – Authorities have arrested a Lake County woman for her alleged role in a home invasion that occurred during the early morning hours of May 21, authorities said. Laura R. Townsend, 22, of the 10700 block of West 17th Street in Benton Township was taken into custody Tuesday at her home after authorities obtained a warrant for her arrest on charges of home invasion, a class X felony; and residential burglary, a Class 1 felony. Police believe Townsend is one of three people involved in the May 21 home invasion at a residence in the 18500 block of West Main Street in Warren Township.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to the home at about 1 a.m. When deputies arrived, they learned three suspects robbed three people at the home of their cell phones, according to the news release. Two of the suspects were armed with handguns.
Police said one of the male suspects also struck one of the residents in the face with a firearm. The victim’s injuries did not require hospitalization.

Two of the offenders were described as being white or Hispanic males, both approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall in their late 20s or early 30s. One of the offenders was described as being a white or Hispanic female in her 20s.
During the investigation, sheriff's office detectives determined one of the suspects involved in the home invasion was Townsend, according to authorities. The two other suspects remain at large, Christopher Covelli, spokesman for the sheriff's office, told Patch.

He said the victims were targeted and that the home invasion was not a random crime.
