1 Cited In Libertyville Hit-And-Run Crash

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — One person was cited following a hit-and-run crash in Libertyville last month, authorities said. Valeriya Barybina, 23, of the 1200 block of Andover Lane in Mundelein, has been cited for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to give aid/information and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following the collision at about 2:25 a.m. on July 18 on Midlothian Road near Mallory Drive.

Authorities say Barybina was driving a vehicle that caused the crash. The driver of the vehicle Barybina is accused of hitting provided authorities with a description of the vehicle and a license plate number, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

A Mundelein Police Department officer located the vehicle driving through Mundelein and pulled it over. Barybina was driving the vehicle and was taken into custody, authorities said.

Barybina was released at the scene at a $2,500 recognizance bond and is next expected in court on Sept. 9.
