1 Dead In Libertyville Crash

The two-vehicle collision happened Sunday morning on Route 137.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Libertyville.

The collision happened in the 300 block of Route 137 at about 11 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. Emergency personnel called to the scene freed both drivers from their vehicles after they became trapped inside.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department. The other driver sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to Condell Medical Center.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities said.
