2 Teens Arrested For Selling Candy Door-to-Door: Police
The Libertyville Police Department responded to a report of two teens selling candy in Libertyville on Dec. 22.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL -- Two Chicago teens were arrested for illegally selling candy out of a brown bag door-to-door in Libertyville last month, police said. Nyerere T. Thurman, of the 7000 block of South Champlane in Chicago, and Tywan S. Locke, of the 1500 block of Drake Avenue in Chicago, both face a charge of itinerant merchant violation in connection with the Dec. 22 incident. Around 11:40 a.m. on that date, police in Libertyville were called to the area of Garfield Avenue and Greentree Parkway for a report of the teens selling candy, according to a police department report.
Police approached Locke and Thurman while they were walking south on Garfield. Initially the men, who are both 19 years old, refused to provide police with any information, according to the police report.
But Thurman eventually did admit the duo was selling candy door-to-door, according to the police report.

Both men were arrested. They were released on a $120 personal recognizance bonds. They are next expected in court on Jan. 16.
