2 Busted For Stealing Car, Burglarizing Vehicles: Police

The Libertyville Police Department arrested a two men for burglarizing cars in Libertyville on Sept. 26, according to authorities.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A Prospect Heights teen and Waukegan man were arrested last month for burglarizing vehicles in Libertyville neighborhoods, according to police. The Libertyville Police Department allegedly busted the duo in the area of Riva Ridge and Ruidoso at 2:53 a.m. on Sept. 26.

While speaking to Maurice Williams, 22, and Chevy R. Allen Wadelton, 19, police allegedly learned they'd been burglarizing vehicles in surrounding neighborhood. During the investigation, authorities also determined the pair drove to Libertyville in a vehicle they'd stolen from a neighboring town, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

William also had a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation, police said.

Williams and Wadelton were arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail. Williams, of the 2000 block of Wadelton Lane, is charged with possession of a stolen auto, two counts of burglary to auto, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, parole violation warrant, unlawful possession of a credit/debit car and criminal trespassing to a vehicle. Wadelton of the 500 block of Claire Lane, is charged with two counts of burglary to auto, theft and trespassing to auto.
