Save-A-Pet's annual Petathlon 3k dog walk is taking place in conjunction with the Dog Days of Summer event in Libertyville on Sunday, July 13th. The Petathlon event involves a 3k walk through Libertyville and a festival in Cook Park. The festival includes live music, adoptable dogs, raffles, dog cooling stations, a pet prize spin wheel, snacks and more. Registration is open in advance at http://www.petathlon.org/ and over the weekend at Save-A-Pet's booths at the Dog Days of Summer event on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th. Packet pick-up opens at 8am on Sunday the 13th and Mayor Terry Weppler will be kicking off the walk at 9:30am. All proceeds raised by the Petathlon will benefit Save-A-Pet's no-kill non-profit adoption center in Grayslake, IL.
