8 Lake Co. Businesses Cited For Selling Alcohol To Minor

LAKE COUNTY, IL – Eight Lake County businesses have been cited for selling alcohol to a minor following compliance checks recently conducted by the Lake Co. Sheriff's Office, according to a news release. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office checked 58 establishments and cited the following businesses and clerks for selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21 years old:

• Shell Gas, 41867 North Route 41 in Wadsworth, and clerk Mukudkumar I. Parekh, 34
• Quick Mart Citgo, 41490 North Route 41 in Wadsworth and clerk Brian M. Hayden, 39
• Cardinal Wine & Liquor, 39172 North Sheridan Road, Beach Park and clerk Cameron J. Zwicke, 39
• Ma & Pa’s Liquors, 37737 Green Bay Road, Beach Park, and clerk, Marcos Rueda-Roman, 52
• Marathon Gas, 37740 North Sheridan Road, Beach Park and clerk, Chris T. Das, 23
• Citgo Gas, 27161 West Grass Lake Road, Antioch, and clerk Abid Hussain, 61
• Aldi, 27415 West Hartigan Road, Volo, and clerk Ashley M. Schoenke, 24

The clerks in violation were ticketed for selling liquor to a minor. They are required to appear in Waukegan court. Notice of the violations were sent to their respective liquor commission jurisdictions (Wadsworth, Beach Park, Volo, and Lake County Liquor Commission), according to the news release.
