Adler Pool Could Get New Shade Structures: Village
The village board will vote on whether to approve the shade structures during a Tuesday board meeting.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Village officials are looking to enhance the comfort and safety of swimmers at Adler Pool with the addition of four new shade structures.
The Village Board on Tuesday will decide whether to approve a contract with Superior Recreational Products for the purchase and installation of the structures, totaling $79,647.36, according to the village board agenda.
The existing shade structures at Adler Pool are more 20 years old and have deteriorated due to age and weather exposure. Village officials say the replacements will provide better shade coverage, improve overall guest experience and ensure a safer environment for pool patrons.

The project will be completed through the Sourcewell Joint Purchasing Program, a cooperative that allows municipalities to bypass a separate bidding process while meeting competitive procurement standards, according to village documents.
The total project cost falls within the Village’s Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Capital Improvement Plan, which allocated $100,000 for the replacement of Adler Pool shade structures, village officials noted in the agenda packet.

Recreation Director Patrick Bodame worked with Play Design Scapes to select structures suitable for the facility’s needs. Installation will also be managed under the Sourcewell cooperative agreement, village officials said.
Adler Pool is set to open on May 23 for the 2026 summer season.
