The Jenny’s Dance Centre Company dancers have been selected to perform at the Young Tanzsommer Festival in Austria in the summer of 2013. Young Tanzsommer brings a wide range of pre-professional dancers from North America to perform at Tanzsommer, the popular summer dance festival in Austria.
In addition to this honor, two JDC hip hop dances were recently invited to perform at the World Hip Hop Championships in Germany in October.

These are just a couple of the highlights of the 2012 competition season.

The season started off with the JUMP Competition in Chicago on January 21-22 where the dancers participated in workshops with some of the biggest names in the dance world, such as Mia Michaels, Melanie Moore and Misha Gabriel. Many dancers were awarded scholarships to attend dance intensives in New York and California.
Next, the dancers competed at the prestigious New York City Dance Alliance
Regionals where JDC received numerous platinum awards. Many other high awards were received in choreography, precision, showmanship and costuming. The Jenny’s dance company also received the Class Act Award, given to the studio that always presents its dancers in an age appropriate manner.
At the OnStage New York Regionals in Detroit, the team earned 25 platinum awards, 4 high gold and 2 gold awards. The group also received the over-all Entertainment Award for Three Little Birds and coveted Critic’s Choice award for Bechara. Anna Volkmann won the title of Miss Teen OnStage New York and Cassie Austin was named the Triple Threat winner for her combination of dance and solo vocal performance.
The regional competition season ended with the Headliners Regionals in Mattson, IL where the Jenny’s dancers took home, along with 27 Elite Gold awards, the highest possible at this competition, the High Score Teen award for Bechara and High Score Junior Over-all award for Wind it Up. Zoe Draznik was name Miss Teen Headliners.
Jenny’s Dance Centre will showcase these dancers at the studio’s recital on Friday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at the College of Lake County’s Mainstage Theatre in Grayslake.
The company will compete in Orlando from July 13-17 in the OnStage New York Nationals competition.
The studio’s team will compete in jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, lyrical, musical theater, tap and vocal performance. Company members are: Lake Bluff: Molly Dasso, Nell Dasso, Marissa Giangiorgi, Sydney Golde, Sarah Kuetemeyer, Elizabeth Meulbroek, Nina Montalbano and Maggie Rogers. Lake Forest: Lauren Basgall, Meredith Delaney, Caroline Martino, Daniella Martino, Lilly Neil, Emily Poth, Sammy Shipp, Caleigh Silver, Bria Slobodnik, Nicolette Stern, Anna Volkmann and Olivia Witmer. Libertyville: Cassie Austin, Clarisse Austin, Brenna Bradley, Gillian Bradley and Cassie Campbell. Green Oaks: Amy Stouffer. Lake Villa: Ashley Bates. Palatine: Zoe Draznik. Winnetka: Mackenzie Nolan.
