Angry, Noisy Hotel Guest Charges At Desk Clerk: Police

The Bloomington man has been arrested for assault following the incident at Candlewood Suites in Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – A disagreement over a noise complaint lead one hotel guest in Libertyville to charge at the front desk clerk at Candlewood Suites last week, authorities said. James R. Jones, 27, has been charged with assault following the incident on March 15 at the hotel, which is located at 1100 North U.S. Highway 45 in Libertyville. The front desk clerk at the hotel called police at 11:59 p.m. to report the alleged attack, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

The clerk told police four hotel guests made noise complaints against two other nearby rooms. When the clerk asked the guests in the rooms causing the noise to quiet down, Jones allegedly became angry, balled up his hands in a fist and charged toward the desk clerk, according to authorities.

A member from Jones' group said Jones had been out drinking and acknowledged they had been a little loud.
