LAKE COUNTY, IL — An arrest warrant has been issued for Alessis Botello, 18, of Wheeling, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this year in a Walgreens parking lot in Mundelein, authorities said Tuesday. Police have said the shooter in the May 28 incident got out of the passenger side of an SUV that had pulled into the parking at 345 N. Lake Street at about 1 p.m. and shot Gavile Jackson, 18, of Mundelein.
Jackson was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The Daily Herald reports that authorities have said the shooting occurred after a disagreement that may have been drug-related. Authorities used statements from witnesses as well as surveillance video during the course of their investigation.
