Beach Passes Now Available for Independence Grove Forest Preserve

LAKE COUNTY, IL - Get unlimited access to the swimming beach at Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville––including participation in Family Fun Friday games and prizes––with the purchase of a 2017 beach season pass now on sale to Lake County residents, according to a news release. The pass allows holders unlimited use of the 400-foot sand beach that runs along the South Bay of Independence Grove's 115-acre lake.

RATES

• $49 for one person, $75 for two, $105 for three, $129 for four, and $150 for five or more.
• Receive a 10 percent early bird discount by purchasing on or before May 1.

ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION

• Proof of current Lake County residency required for each person 16 and older.
• Copy of birth certificate required for children ages 1–15 (first-year registration only). Birth certificates not required for renewals; just proof of current Lake County residency.

PURCHASE

• Purchase beach season passes at the Independence Grove Visitors Center. Preserve entrance is on Buckley Road (Route 137) just east of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21) and west of River Road.

2017 BEACH SCHEDULE

• Weekends only, May 27–June 4 (including Memorial Day)
• Daily, June 5–August 11
• Season finale, weekends only, August 12–September 4 (including Labor Day).

BEACH HOURS

• 10 am–6 pm. Lifeguards are on duty when the beach is open.
• Beach is subject to unscheduled closings due to weather and conditions.

FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS

The beach gets even better on Fridays when the forest preserve district host games, contests and prizes around a different theme each week from June 16–August 4.
