Body Found In Aftermath Of House Fire, Police Investigating
A police officer noticed a 'fully involved' house fire shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. Once the flames were extinguished, a body was found.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — One person was found dead in the aftermath of a house fire early Friday morning, Libertyville police said.
An officer on a routine patrol noticed a structure fire at around 3:22 a.m. in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue, police said in a statement.
The Libertyville Fire Department and several other local departments responded to the scene, shutting down roadways in the area temporarily.

Once the fire was extinguished, fire officials searched the residence and found a body inside, authorities said.
Officials said they know the identity of the person, but are withholding the name until family members can be notified.

The incident is currently classified as a death investigation by the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. Libertyville police, the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Lake County Coroner's office are also involved.
