Patients undergoing infusions at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville got a surprise visit Thursday, Oct. 29, from Chicago Bears alumni Henry Melton and Rashied Davis. The two spent time with patients during treatment and delivered 100 bright yellow care packages from Lemons of Love, a nonprofit that supports people going through cancer treatment. The alumni donated the gifts on behalf of Bears Care, the charitable arm of the Chicago Bears.

The hospital’s infusion patients receive chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood treatments and other therapies, with some appointments involving long treatment sessions. The visit gave patients and their families an unexpected break in the treatment day.
