Condell Whiteboard Shows Daily Progress In Hospital's Fight
While the new coronavirus is sickening and killing some, the hospital wants to remind its staff many more are recovering.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — It's hard not to feel like hospitals across the Chicago area are filled with doom and gloom as doctors and nurses work around the clock to treat coronavirus patients. There are a lot of news stories regarding hospitals running out of beds and ventilators, and while that is happening, there are also plenty of people recovering, getting off ventilators and moving out of intensive care units as well.

With that in mind, Advocate Medical Center in Libertyville has made the point of updating a whiteboard, which "floats" around it's hospital. It provides a "a visual situational overview of key metrics related to COVID-19 cases," Lisa Parro, content strategy manager for public affairs and marketing for Advocate Aurora Health.
This past week, the whiteboard read: "Within the last 24 hours we: extubated six patients, downgraded 14 patients from ICU status and discharged 18 patients who are on their way to recovery."

The whiteboard can be found, depending on the day, in the front lobby, west tower lobby, emergency department or in front of a busy elevator bank at the hospital, Parro wrote in an e-mail response to Patch.
