Coroner IDs 2 Killed In Head-On Crash With Semi In Lake County

The collision happened Thursday morning on Route 173 near North Kilbourne Road in Wadsworth.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a Wisconsin man and woman who were killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning in northern Lake County.

Kelly Wooten, 51, and Jacklyn Bradley, 45, both of Stoughton, Wisconsin, died after the 2009 Acura sedan Wooten was driving collided head-on with a Freightliner semi-truck on Route 173 near North Kilbourne Road in Wadsworth at about 7:50 a.m. on Thursday, according to authorities.

After the initial collision between the semi and the sedan, an eastbound Honda minivan, driven by a 54-year-old woman from Salem, Wisconsin, also collided with the sedan, police said.

Both Wooten and Bradley were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the semi, a 24-year-old Evergreen Park man, was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
