Coroner Releases Tattoo Photos, Works To ID Skeletal Remains Found In Lake County
Authorities are asking for the public's help as they continue to try to identify a woman found dead in a wooded area on Nov. 19.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has released more information about a person whose skeletal remains were found in a wooded area in Libertyville in November.
As authorities continue to work to find out who she is, the coroner's office on Tuesday released more information regarding the woman.
According to the coroner's office, the partial skeletal remains, found in the 1800 block of Hollister Drive in Libertyville at about 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 19, were from an adult woman with dark brown or gray hair and partial dentures in the upper portion of her mouth, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department.

The woman also had tattoos, and authorities have released photos of the tattoos, along with information regarding the design of the tattoos, with the hopes that someone will come forward with information that will help them to positively identify her, according to the news release.

- A tattoo on the righter shoulder or upper arm is of two yellow/blue-green colored fish that are in a "yingyang" design, with an unknown tattoo above that.
- A tattoo on the left upper arm that has a floral design with a ribbon containing letters (that are possibly C-A-T)
- An unidentifiable tattoo on the back of the neck/upper back

On Nov. 19, the Libertyville Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Hollister Drive for a report of partial skeletal remains that were found. When officers arrived, they confirmed that the remains were human.
Officers and a Lake County Sheriff's Office canine worked to search the area and located additional remains in a wooded area. It appears the remains belong to a single person, according to the sheriff's office.
The coroner's office was notified and responded to the scene, and authorities have been working to identify the woman since.
