Human Skeletal Remains Found In Libertyville; Police Investigating

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A death investigation is underway after human remains were found in Libertyville, according to police.
Law enforcement responded shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of Hollister Drive for a report that partial skeletal remains had been discovered, said police, who confirmed the remains were human. A Lake County Sheriff’s Office K-9 searched the location and officers found additional remains in a wooded area, according to authorities.
“The incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the community,” police said in a news release.

Hollister Drive is a commercial street, occupied by medical buildings and a car dealership, surrounded by woods and abutting the Des Plaines River, according to Google Maps. The discovery remains under investigation by Libertyville police and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
