Could Chickens be Allowed in Libertyville?

A special projects committee for the village this past week voted against a recommendation to allow residents with at least a quarter-acre to have up to three hens in Libertyville, according to the Daily Herald. 

This recommendation will now be weighed by the village board, which will give the final approval or disapproval on whether chickens should be allowed in Libertyville, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports the committee expressed concern over the chickens causing too much noise, smelling bad or attracting predators.
