D70 Teachers Honored For Reaching Tenure Status
In Illinois, a teacher becomes tenured after four successful years of satisfactory evaluation/reviews.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL -- Libertyville Elementary District 70 honored seven staff members at a Board of Education meeting this week for reaching tenure statue. Staff members being honored included hearing impaired districtwide teacher Tracy Aleckson, Copeland Manor first grade teacher Stephanie Bolanowski, Highland Middle School health teacher Jessica Fenton, Copeland Manor fourth grade teacher Sara Snider, Butterfield kindergarten teacher Megan True, technology literacy coach Chris Vipond, and English Language teacher Nichole Vipond, according to a District 70 news release.
“We are so proud of all that you do,” Supt. Dr. Guy Schumacher said when awarding the staff members’ tenure at the Aug. 27 school board meeting.
“Your collective achievements are considerable and your value to the district is appreciated,” he said. “We honor you now for your dedication to District 70 and your commitment to the field of education.”

The certificates were handed out to the teachers by Board of Education President Tom Vickers, Schumacher and Director of Human Resources Tom Bean.

This includes a series of required classroom observations, the monitoring of lesson plans as well as goal appraisal, and the overall fulfillment of requirements listed in the District 70 teacher evaluation system.
