Decorations at This Grayslake Home Come to Life on Halloween Night

The Dusek family will have a live "monster" and mechanical decorations running during trick-or-treating hours in Grayslake.

One Grayslake family likes to go all out with their yearly Halloween decorations.

And this year is no different for the Dusek family. Their home at 1011 Chesapeake Boulevard is decorated with a complete graveyard, which includes an iron fence and two handmade caskets, said Kristen Dusek, daughter of Gary and Shirley Dusek, in an e-mail to Patch.

Gary and Shirley make the decorations extra-festive on the night of trick-or-treating in Grayslake, which will be held on Oct. 31 this year. That night there will be a fog machine, scary music and a live “monster” roaming the yard, Kristen Dusek said.

During trick-or-treat hours, the Duseks will have everything mechanical up and running in their yard. While you cannot walk through the yard, curious residents can check it out from the sidewalk.

“We also invite people to walk up to the door (if they dare) to get their candy,” Kristen Dusek said.
