District 128 Meeting, 'First Friday' This Week

Here's a look at some events coming up this week:

• The Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. May 29. Items on the agenda include: terminating the lease agreement between Luco Education Partners, Afterschool Club; and the approval of Champions Extended Learning After/Before School Care.

• The Board of Education will hold its meeting at 7 p.m. May 29 in the Vernon Hills High School library, 145 N. Lakeview Parkway. Items on the agenda include: a report on the swimming pool compliance issue; the recognition of students receiving distinguished service awards; and the recognition of outgoing student school board representatives.

• The will kick off its annual summer reading program, Dream Big: Read, on June 1. Details about the program are available on the library's website.

MainStreet Libertyville will hold its annual Historic House Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 2. This year's theme is "A Walk Down Broadway" and will feature 16 houses and a church. The tour will begin in Cook Park, and guide books are available for a $10 donation to MainStreet Libertyville.
