Driver Stopped In Traffic On Route 45 Charged With DUI: Police
The 31-year-old Waukegan man faces several felony charges following the incident early Sunday in Libertyville.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 31-year-old Waukegan man faces several drunken driving charges after police found his car stopped in traffic on Route 45 early Sunday. Officers with the Libertyville Police Department responded at 2:50 a.m. to Route 45 and Peterson Road where they found the vehicle in the northbound lanes of traffic, according to a police department report.
As an officer spoke with the driver, who was identified as Jonathon Chance, 31, of the 500 block of Belvidere Road in Waukegan, the vehicle started to drive north through the intersection and up on the curb on the northeast corner of the intersection before it came to a rest, according to the police report.
Chance was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence BAC .08 or more, illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage and improper use of a turn signal, according to the police report. He was released after posting his driver's license and signing a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

He is next expected in court on July 30.
