The 54-year-old Mundelein man was taken into custody earlier this month in Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 54-year-old Mundelein man who called 911 and told dispatchers he wanted to shoot people has been arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication, police said. After the caller made the alleged threat at about 5:04 p.m. on Sept. 2, authorities were able to trace the cell phone used to place the call to the 7000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville.

The cell phone belonged to James N. Trelford, according to the Libertyville Police Department report.

Police found Trelford, who was allegedly belligerent and aggressive with officers. He told police he did not have a firearm and that he had no way of actually carrying out his threat, police said.
