Fees On Unpaid Lake Co. Fines To Be Waived During Week In Sept.
Interest and collection fees on the unpaid fines will be waived during the Lake County Circuit Clerk's Amnesty Week.

LAKE COUNTY, IL -- If you have interest and collection fees mounting on unpaid criminal and traffic tickets, listen up. The Lake County Circuit Clerk's Office in coordination with the Lake County State's Attorney's Office will be holding Lake County Amnesty Week starting on Monday, Sept. 24, and continuing through Friday, Sept. 28. During that week, all collection fees and accrued interest will be waived on any past due fines owed for criminal and traffic matters in Lake County, according to a news release.
Last year, over $165,000 in collection and interest fees were waived for participants. Also, 450 cases were closed during the week period, according to authorities.
Full or partial payment will be accepted either over the phone or at any of Lake County's branch court locations. Offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
