‘Find My Phone’ App Helps Police Track Down Phone Thief
A Libertyville man was arrested for stealing the phone from an XSport Fitness last month.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - Technology and quick police work helped officers track down a phone stolen from a Libertyville gym last month.
The phone’s owner used the “Find my Phone” application after his phone was taken while he was at XSport Fitness, 1163 Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, on Aug. 27. He called police and a “ping” of the phone showed the phone was at a location in Vernon Hills, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.
Police located the phone in a vehicle in a parking lot at 10 East Hawthorne Parkway in Vernon Hills. The vehicle’s owner, Toss Q. Baquiran, of 639 West Park Avenue, Apartment 2C, admitted he had a phone in his vehicle that did not belong to him, according to police.
