Police Investigate Criminal Damage Complaint After Fireworks Set Off in Bathroom at Park

The Libertyville Police have no suspect information on who may have set off fireworks in the bathroom at Nicholas Dowden Park.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - The Libertyville Police Department responded to two separate reports of criminal damage in recent weeks that caused damage to a washroom at a local park and another that left a vehicle with a broken out window

The first report was made on July 8 when an officer out on a routine patrol discovered damage in the washrooms of Nicholas Dowden Park. The damage appeared to be caused by fireworks that were set off inside the building, according to a police department report. There was no suspect information immediately available.

A second report was taken on July 10 when a resident of the 300 block of West Lincoln reported that sometime in the overnight hours, unknown people threw a large piece of firewood at their 2009 Chevy, breaking out a window, according to police. An estimate on the damage was not available at the time of the report. There is no suspect information immediately available at the time.
