Gurnee Man Faces Promoting Prostitution Charges

Cook County sheriff's police say Luis Zacarias-Ahumada led a prostitution enterprise out of a North Side Chicago apartment.

WAUKEGAN, IL – A Gurnee man faces charges of promoting prostitution after Cook County sheriff's police say two women were found last week in a Chicago apartment that was used as a place of prostitution. Luis Zacarias-Ahumada was found in Waukegan on Dec. 13 and taken into custody, having since been handed a $10,000 bond after appearing in court over the weekend.

Zacarias-Ahumada, 39, is accused of operating an illegal prostitution enterprise out of an apartment in Chicago's 3900 block of West Lawrence Avenue in the city's North Park neighborhood. Police say Zacarias-Ahumada also financially benefited from the prostitution acts that occurred there.

The women victims found in the apartment last week have been provided services and temporary housing through the sheriff's office.
