This course provides an introduction to natural habitat communities located within Lake County, Illinois. Students will learn and understand the concept of plant and animal diveristy and its role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. A virtual hike along the Des Plaines River Trail will be taken to illustrate habitat and ecosystem structures. Students will also learn how to participate in local activities to protect native and restored Lake County habitats. Gold Card Fee is $9.50. Tuition: $19. Class meets Monday from 7:00–9:00 PM on October 5, at Vernon Hills High School. Registration is required.
