How do you want to die? I told a group recently that I wanted to drop over dead suddenly just as I finished carrying 12 people out of a burning building. Have you thought how you would like to die?
Today is End-of-life Healthcare Decision Day. It should serve as a reminder that we ought to think through how we want our final days to go. Do you want to go in peace with dignity? Perhaps with your favorite music playing, the lights dimmed, and loved ones in the room. Or would you rather be in a hospital in the throes of modern medicine with the monitor beeping, the IV pump beeping, the noise of the other machines, the noise in the hall and in the other rooms (they are beeping, too).
Begin your decision making process today, begin talking with your loved ones today, make your wishes known. Want a little help? End-of-Life Table Talk, NFP.
