Lake Co. Police Memorial Set For May 11

The annual event honors law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

From the Lake County Sheriff's Office: Sheriff Mark Curran is pleased to announce Lake County’s Annual Police Memorial is set for Friday, May 11, 2018 at Noon. Each year, a host of dignitaries join the Sheriff at this annual event honoring law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

The memorial will take place at the Lake County Courthouse, Lincoln Plaza in Waukegan. In the event of rain, the memorial will be held at the Daniel T. Drew Municipal Complex, 100 N Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Waukegan.

  • Chief Wayne Walles, Waukegan Police Department
  • Chief Kevin Woodside, Gurnee Police Department (President of the Lake County Chiefs of Police)
  • Lake County State’s Attorney Michael Nerheim
  • Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor
  • Lake County Sheriff Mark C. Curran, Jr.

Lunch will be served immediately following the memorial, at the Waukegan City Hall.
