Lake Co. Sheriff Warns of Continued Scam

Telemarketers identifying themselves as calling on behalf of the Lake County Sheriff's Office are soliciting for donations/and or pledges.

LIBERYVILLE, IL - From Lake County Sheriff's Office: The Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues to receive numerous calls from the public stating telemarketers identifying themselves as calling on behalf of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are soliciting for donations/and or pledges. The most recent callers are stating that telemarketers are soliciting for advertising options ranging from $125 to $2,000 in exchange for a license plate frame.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office does not make phone calls soliciting money from the public.

If you receive a call from a telemarketer identifying herself/himself as calling on behalf of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, be advised the call was not approved by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
