LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 47-year-old Wadsworth woman allegedly drove drunk into a squad car Wednesday night, authorities said. The incident occurred after a Lake County Sheriff's Office deputy pulled over a vehicle that was headed east on Wadsworth Road just east of Delany Road in Wadsworth about 10:35 p.m., according to a news release.

The deputy was talking to the driver while the deputy's emergency lights were activated when a 2013 GMC Acadia struck the back of the squad car.

No one was injured and the driver of the Acadia, Corey L. Kirschhoffer, of the 39800 block of North Mauser Drive in Woodstock, was arrested and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, authorities said.
