Lake County Roadside Safety Check Nets Several Arrests
Police arrested motorists for DUI, drug charges and other traffic offenses.

A roadside safety check held last month at the intersection of Route 21 and Casey Road in Libertyville Township resulted in several arrests.
The traffic enforcement was held from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on May 21.

Officers issued 34 citations and made the following arrests:
- Four DUI arrests
- Four drug arrests
- Three arrests for driving while license suspended
- Two citations for no valid driver’s license
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will continue extra enforcement in May.

The extra enforcement is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Administration. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
