Libertyville Among Best IL Cities For Families: Study

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville has made the list of Illinois' best cities to raise a family, according to a recent study by WalletHub.

Libertyville took No. 2 in the massive list, coming in behind only Naperville. Much of the northwest suburbs made the list, which is based on a number of factors like playgrounds per capita, attractions, median family income, affordable housing, crime rates and many others.

These factors are among 21 that WalletHub researchers used to compile the data, all organized into four major dimensions: 1) family life and fun, 2) education, health and safety, 3) affordability and 4) socio-economics. The rankings included 222 of Illinois' 1,299 municipalities.

Libertyville did well above average in all four dimensions, but it really takes the cake in education, health and safety and affordability, ranking No. 9 and No. 4, respectively. Family life and fun was Libertyville's lowest category at No. 78, but socio-economics saw a high ranking in Libertyville at No. 24.
