Libertyville Elementary District 70 Teachers Honored for Tenure Status
In the state of Illinois, a teacher becomes tenured after four successful years of satisfactory evaluations or reviews.

Libertyville Elementary District 70 honored nine staff members at a Board of Education meeting last week for reaching tenure status, according to a press release.
Staff members being honored included Highland Middle School eighth-grade health teacher Breehan Davidson, Butterfield School third grade teacher Jenny Groot, Butterfield School special education teacher Becca Kassebaum, Highland Middle School eighth grade science teacher Mary Beth Romano, Highland Middle School seventh grade science teacher Mike Rumpf, psychologist Rita Schnarr (Adler Park, Butterfield and Rockland schools), Butterfield School music teacher Jonathan Weppler, Rockland fifth grade teacher Stephanie Wilson and orchestra teacher Allison Zabelin (Butterfield, Copeland Manor and Highland Middle schools), according to a news release.
“We are so proud of all that you do,” Superintendent Guy Schumacher said when awarding the staff members tenure at the Aug. 22 school board meeting.

“Your collective achievements are considerable and your value to the district is appreciated,” he said. “We honor you now for your dedication to District 70 and your commitment to the field of education.”
The certificates were handed out to the teachers by Board of Education President Tom Vickers, Dr. Schumacher and Director of Human Resources Dr. Tom Bean, according to a news release.
