Libertyville High School Ranked Among the Top 20 Best High Schools in State

U.S. News and World Report released its annual best high schools list Monday.

Libertyville High School is among the best high schools in the state, according to the U.S. News and World Report’s 2016 Best High Schools list.

Libertyville High School was ranked as the 18th best high school in the state, according to the recently released rankings. The high school saw a slight drop in rank compared to last year when U.S. News & World Report ranked Libertyville High School as the 13th best high school in the state.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.

In the state, Northside College Preparatory High School came in first. The No. 1 high school in the U.S. rankings is the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas. Adlai Stevenson High School was ranked as the best suburban high school in the state--coming in at No. 5 on the Best High Schools list.
