Libertyville Police Arrest Man Wanted On Burglary Charge

An off-duty police officer recognized the man he spotted at a Shell gas station in town on June 6.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department took a 37-year-old Chicago man into custody last week on a warrant for a burglary charge. Ralph E. Rodriguez, of the 3200 block of West Arthington, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. at a Shell gas station, 109 S. Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, by an off-duty police officer who recognized him as a wanted subject.

An officer spoke with Rodriguez, who identified himself, and a record check confirmed Rodriguez had a valid warrant for burglary through the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department. He was unable to post the required bond and was transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
