Police Blotter: DUI Arrest After Vehicle Nearly Hits Cop Car

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Here is a look at local police department reports from recent days:
DUI:
Police said they saw a car veer into oncoming lanes on Butterfield Road near Lake Street on Oct. 28 around 3:40 a.m.

The car continued north and then nearly struck a southbound police squad car, authorities said.
The vehicle was pulled over and its driver, Eduardo Ruben Zambrano, 37, of Round Lake Beach, allegedly failed several sobriety tests.

Zambrano was released after posting his driver's license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
DUI:
Around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, officers saw a car weaving and speeding south on Butterfield Road near Golf Road, police said. Officers pulled the vehicle over and smelled alcohol on the driver's breath, according to police.
Rebecca Vega, 32, of Vernon Hills, allegedly failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, police said.
Vega was released after posting her driver's license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
DUI, drug possession, open alcohol in car:
Officers stopped a vehicle on Oct. 31 around 2 a.m. in the area of Fifth Street and Rte. 176 after it was weaving into oncoming lanes, police said.
Matthew Gerlach, 27, of Arlington Heights, was charged with DUI and placed under arrest, police said. Officers also allegedly found open alcohol, pot and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle, according to police.
Gerlach was released after posting his driver's license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
