Libertyville Police Step Up Patrols Through Labor Day

The local police department will be out in full force through Sept. 8.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville Police Department officers will be out in full force over the Labor Day holiday. The police department is joining law enforcement agencies across the state in its high-visibility Drove Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which will run through the early morning hours of Sept. 8, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department.

During this period, drivers in Libertyville can expect to see stepped-up impaired driving patrols and seat-belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat-belt usage rates are at their lowest. Officers will also be on the lookout for speeders and distracted drivers, according to the news release.

Those celebrating this Labor Day should designate a sober driver and not let friends or family members drive drunk, police said. Even a small amount of alcohol can impair judgment and reaction times, making driving unsafe.
