Liquidation sales have started and business along Milwaukee Avenue plans to close by Aug. 1.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – After 51 years in business, the True Value in Libertyville will soon be closing. Located along Milwaukee Avenue, the hardware store has been run by the LeJeune family for nearly 40 of those years, according to the Daily Herald. Current owner Ed LeJeune is turning 65 next month and his retirement will mark an end of an era.
"After 50 years, it's time to wind down," LeJeune told the Daily Herald. "I can't find people who want to do this any more. I think they're afraid of the big-boxes, but what are you going to do?"
