Libertyville Woman, 24, Killed In Crash

LIBERTYVILLE, IL —A 24-year-old Libertyville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Monday in Waukegan.

Officers with the Waukegan Police Department responded to the collision at Belvidere and River roads in Waukegan at about 2:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found a vehicle on fire and on its roof, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

Authorities say the crash occurred when a 2017 Honda sports utility vehicle was attempting to cross eastbound Belvidere traffic at River Road when a 2003 Infiniti sedan, which was eastbound on Belvidere, hit the Honda, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The driver of the Honda, Ashley Krock, 24, of Libertyville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary results from an autopsy found Kroc died from multiple injuries sustained as a result of a crash, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office news release.
