Man Arrested For Domestic Battery In Parking Lot: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL –A 51-year-old Chicago man has been charged with domestic battery following an incident last month. Cleveland J. Brown, of 548 Fox Ridge Drive in Chicago, is accused of battering a woman in the parking lot next to a BP gas station at 114 Peterson Road in Libertyville, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

Authorities were called to the scene at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.

Police said they were able to link Brown to the battery after interviewing him, the victim and a witness. Authorities relied on the accounts given as well as "evidence of hair braids that were pulled out from the victim" and took Brown into custody, according to the police report.

The victim declined medical attention, according to police.

Brown has been issued a citation for domestic battery and was taken to the Lake County Jail.
