Man Arrested For Stealing Vehicle Sticker From Neighbor: Police
The Grayslake man was arrested during a traffic stop after a records check revealed his registration sticker was not his. police said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL -- A 56-year-old Grayslake man was arrested after he swiped a vehicle registration sticker from a person living on his street, police said. Grant Weston Boyer, of the 1500 block of Amos Bennett Street in Grayslake, was taken into custody after authorities conducted a registration check on his vehicle after pulling him over in Libertyville at 12:20 a.m. on Sept. 17, according to a Libertyville Police Department report. An officer approaching the vehicle noticed a 2019 registration sticker on the vehicle.
But upon further investigation, the officer realized the registration sticker did not match the vehicle and was registered to another person who lived on the same street as Boyer, police said.

When questioned, Boyer said he'd pulled the sticker off from someone else’s car, according to the police report. He was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen registration sticker, which is a Class 2 felony. He was also charged with expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle, authorities said.

His vehicle was towed and Boyer was transported to the Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing.
