Man Attacks, Chokes Man At Libertyville Bar: Police
A 52-year-old Libertyville man now faces a. battery charge in connection with the March 25 incident.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 52-year-old Libertyville man faces a battery charge for accusations he choked another man at a bar in March, police said.
The man told police Robert M. Egidi, of the 6000 block of W. Egidi Lane in Libertyville, became upset with him over a comment he made and began to threaten him during the early morning hours of March 25 at Downing's bar, 431 S. Milwaukee Ave., according to a Libertyville Police Department report.
Egidi grabbed the man by his throat and began choking him, according to the police. An employee and a patron at the bar stepped in and were able to separate the two men.

The man reported the battery to police in April and authorities investigated the incident on April 20. Egidi was cited for battery and was released after signing a personal recognizance bond.
