LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 21-year-old South Holland man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Mundelein man Tuesday morning, police said.
Deandre Y. Harris is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm after investigators determined he was visiting his 19-year-old girlfriend at an apartment where the shooting occurred, according to a news release from the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.
Harris got into an argument shortly before 11:40 a.m. with a 48-year-old man who lived at the apartment in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive before allegedly pulling out a semi-automatic pistol and opening fire. The man was hit multiple times and later died from his injuries.
