Man Did Not Register As Sexual Predator: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL -- A 34-year-old Round Lake Beach man was arrested last week after authorities responded to a domestic disturbance in Libertyville and learned the man was a convicted sexually violent predator who had violated terms of the sex offender registry, police said. Daniel B. Cantano, of the 900 block of Hillwod Circle, has been charged with failure to register as a sexual predator, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The drug charges stem from marijuana and a glass smoking pipe allegedly found on Catalano during his arrest at on Aug. 25, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

The arrest came after officers were called to the 700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue for a reported disturbance at about 12:56 a.m. When they arrived, they learned Catalano and a woman had been in a "verbal only domestic dispute."

Catalano remains in custody as of Sunday morning on a $25,000 bond. He is next expected in court on Sept. 18.
