Man Shot In Hotel Parking Lot Near Gurnee Mills

GURNEE, IL -- A 42-year-old man has been hospitalized after being shot in the chest in a parking lot at a hotel near Gurnee Mills, police said. The Gurnee Police Department was called to the scene of the shooting at the Comfort Inn, 6080 Gurnee Mills Circle East, at about 7:38 p.m. Friday Deputy Chief Jesse Gonzalez said in a statement that the victim was conscious and alert when authorities arrived and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, the Lake County News-Sun reports.

The shooter fled the scene. Police said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community, according to the article.
